Welcome to The Fake Football’s Week 9 Fantasy Football Rankings. It’s a great place, I assure you. Wipe your feet, grab a nice cold adult beverage, and relax comfortably while we prepare you for fake football battle. This week, the list of bye week teams grows considerably, as we have six teams enjoying vacation. Be sure to remove all Falcons, Bills, Bears, Lions, Packers, and Titans players from your starting lineups, since those players won’t help much this week. Sort of like Michael Floyd in Week 8! Ha! As usual, our staff consensus rankings are below. With injury news rolling in hourly over the course of the week, please check back in as we will update these rankings periodically throughout the week. Good luck in Week 9!

  1. Bawse says:

    Half PPR
My RBs are Ellington and Tate. I have Charles Sims on the roster and Rainey is available. Should I start Sims or Rainey over Tate?

  2. the imp says:

Shallow bench 12 team 6pt passing TD PPR with 1Q/2R/3W/1TE no flex league. What are your thoughts on Stafford when/if he gets Calvin back?
I keep waiting for Newton’s upside to appear as his schedule is softening, but after TH you can probably imagine that patience is wearing thin. To get Stafford now, I’d have to drop my 5th WR (Decker) who is backing up Brown/Wallace/Allen/Vjax (who, barring injury, was going to be my drop for a backup TE next week). Thanks for the advice.

    • Jeff says:

I think Stafford will get back closer to his normal levels with megatron back and I would side with him over Cam for the rest of the year. I’d snag him now then drop Cam after this week and pickup another WR to backfill the loss of Decker.

  3. Anthony says:

What up Jeff! Q: 2 qb lg. Got Romo, Ryan, Teddy, DeMarco, Foster, Rashad J, J. Hill, Sproles, MEGA, dez, golden, Evans, OBJ. Trade Foster and Golden for Peyton? Thanks!

    • Jeff says:

I think you’d probably be giving up a little too much but I could see the need to do it in a 2QB league. I would just worry about losing Foster since it looks like you can withstand the loss of Tate.

      • Anthony says:

Yeah I think Im stayin put, just wanted a little confirmation. Im in 4 way tie for 1st, 12 man lg, but leading in points by 100. Appreciate it, good luck this week!

  4. Zach says:

Woooo no Gio! full point PPR and i got a RB and a Flex spot for: Hill, Vereen, Keenan Allen, Torrey Smith. I’m thinking Torrey is the first cut, so i can’t decide between he other three

Who ya got?! Help my Obi Wan

    • Jeff says:

haha I think I’d play both RB’s this week. They should both be involved in their team’s passing game which will help.

  5. football says:

start rainey over DMC if Dougie out right? (half ppr)

    • Jeff says:

I have them right next to eachother but ya, Rainey is a good bet and I’ll probably be giving him a bump up when I update

  6. trade says:

would you trade julio for vjax and ivory? Unfortunately i passed up better offers earlier on but im 3-5. Would be starting deangallo at RB nxt week bc of a bye

my rbs are oliver/mathews, trent, joique, deangalo

    • Jeff says:

I wouldn’t make that deal. Julio will get things turned around here soon hopefully. I would try to get creative on filling that RB spot next week or see if other deals are out there.

  7. Chris says:

    My current squad:

    QB – Kaepernick, Cutler
RB – Matt Forte, Joique Bell, Jeremy Hill, Carlos Hyde, Travaris Cadet, Charles Sims
WR – Jordy Nelson, Keenan Allen, Eric Decker, Cord Patterson
    TE – Jimmy Graham

    OFFERED: Julio Jones, DeSean Jackson
WOULD GIVE: Jordy Nelson, Joique Bell

Julio’s ROS schedule is BUTTER…thoughts on the deal?
    1pt PPR

    • Jeff says:

I think I would pass on the deal actually. I really think Jordy is awesome and he has been far more consistent this season. I think the deal is fair for sure, but I would personally hold on to Jordy. I wouldn’t call u crazy for taking it though.

  8. Wilsonian says:

    1) Well damn, your rankings through my lineup for a loop. Would you make any changes here:

    QB: Brady
    WR: Hilton
    WR: LaFell
    WR: Smith, Sr.
    RB: Bradshaw
    RB: Vereen
    TE: Graham
    W/R: Oliver
    QB: Palmer

    BN: Edelman, M.Wallace, Denard, B.Tate

    0.5 PPR – 3 point bonus at 85 yards rec/100 yards rush – 6 point bonus at 135 yards rec/150 yards rush

    See any changes?

    2) Also, I need to drop one player from this roster for a kicker for the week. Who are you dropping?

  9. Norman says:

PPR, Would you gamble with flexing Sims vs. a bad Cle run D over Vereen this week?

  10. Andy says:

One more question…not crazy about Garcon as my 2nd WR, Andre Holmes available. Pick him up? Other WR’s available: Austin, Britt, Bowe, Cooper. Only other WR’s on roster are on bye (Jeffery and Watkins).

  11. Andy says:

This bye week is killing me. 12 team PPR, need 2: Sproles, Andre Williams, Jeremy Hill, or Jonas Gray.

  12. Notman says:

I should’ve looked to see when RG3s bye is (week 10)! I could try to put him in a trade if he plays well this week.

  13. Norman says:

12 Team PPR, in 1st playing against 2nd this week. Luck, Dez, Allen, D Murray, Hillman, Jimmy, Vereen, Edelman, FJax, Wayne, Stacy, Hunter, Sims. Would you drop Stacy & grab RG3 as a FA now for Luck’s bye next week?

  14. football says:

Would you cut doug martin over jstew and rainey?

    • Jeff says:

ehhh I would probably cut Rainey but I would try to wait as long as possible until Martin’s Week 9 status is updated.

  15. Steve C says:

QB Advice for 2 Leagues (4 pt for TD) Team 1: Kaep and Ryan ..Stay as is to play Matchups or I could swap Ryan for Ben? I KNOW Ben isn’t going to repeat last week but is it a step n the right direction? I’m OK with Ryan but worried with his O- Line and if Julio goes down with his foot How much value will Ryan be? ..THOUGHTS? thx Team 2: I have Palmer and Cutler (Hoping Cutler can turn it around after the bye with his arsenal?) Go With them or any reason to drop one for Eli? (pretty thin other choices other than Flacco or Tannehill who I think are both unpredictable…Yes?) Thanx. as Always!

    • Jeff says:

      1) I’d probably stick with Ryan and hope that offense comes around.

      2) I think I would stay put but I would watch matchups with Palmer and keep an eye on Eli if he is on the wire and gets a nice draw.
