Sunday Morning Injury News:

Charcandrick West is out. Spencer Ware will get the start and he makes for a good play.

Jarvis Landry is officially active. He has a nice matchup with Revis out.

Injury News:

Danny Amendola didn’t make the trip to Denver, which hurts Tom Brady’s fantasy outlook considerably. Keshawn Martin is also injured, but is close to returning, so he would probably get Amendola’s snaps, but if Martin can’t play, they would then go to Chris Harper. If this were an easy matchup, I’d probably be on board with the backups in deeper leagues or as a DFS flier, but Denver is just too good against the pass for me to like any of them this week.

Matt Schaub is the starter with Joe Flacco done for the season. Marc Trestman says he hasn’t changed the offense for him, but Schaub is a shell of his former self and his former self was only good for a couple seasons. I expect him to be conservative, which will limit this offense.

Justin Forsett is also done for the season and Javorius “Buck” Allen will get the start. He’s shown enough this season to trust him to get every down work. Defenses will most likely be able to shrink the field against Schaub, but Allen should see enough touches, both on the ground and through the air, against a bad Browns defense, to put up competent fantasy numbers.

Austin Seferian-Jenkins is still out. Of course he’s been out for so long this doesn’t have any real impact on Jameis Winston’s upside, which is still pretty good this week.

Carlos Hyde is still out, so Shaun Draughn will continue to be the lead back. Draughn’s value is in his usage, which has been good, with 20 touches in each of his last two games. He has more value in PPR leagues, as he’s caught 12 passes in those two games.

Tyrod Taylor is going to play this weekend after injuring his shoulder last week. Since returning after the bye, Taylor has been unstartable. His rushing ability always gives him upside though, so in 2QB leagues feel free to keep him in the lineup if needed.

Emmanuel Sanders is listed as probable and will play this week against the Patriots. The Broncos game plan will be to run the ball as much as possible and with the Patriots undermanned on the road against the top defense in the league, they may just be able to stay in the game while doing that. Sanders is a start, but his upside is limited.

Josh McCown will get the start for the Browns after Johnny Manziel was caught with his pants on fire. Manziel looked good in their last game, but I still feel better for the Browns offense with McCown at the helm. His presence should help Gary Barnidge and Travis Benjamin quite a bit and McCown makes for a usable streaming option.

John Brown is listed as probable after missing Wednesday’s practice, then getting limited practices on Thursday and Friday. He caught all four of his targets for 43 yards and a touchdown last week and appears to be a bit healthier this week, so he’s a good start in this matchup.

Michael Floyd also was able to practice this week, but gets the questionable tag compared to Brown’s probable. He should play, but it’s hard to get a good read on his health. That makes it tougher to know John Brown’s upside, but it is good news for Carson Palmer, who will have plenty of targets. I’m going to limit my exposure to Floyd this week if possible.

The Chargers will be without offensive linemen D.J. Fluker and King Dunlap. Philip Rivers’ upside is much lower than it should be in this matchup, but he has played with a decimated o-line most of the season, so the worry is more due to the immense number of injuries across the board for the Chargers. The Jaguars pass rush is poor, so I’m not giving up on Rivers this week, but he’s no longer the top play he was a few weeks ago.

One piece of good news for the Chargers is the return of Malcom Floyd. Floyd suffered a torn labrum just two weeks ago, so his health is obviously still a question. I wouldn’t risk playing him this week, but it does help Rivers prospects a bit.

Ladarius Green was able to practice Thursday and Friday and is listed as probable, which is better than last week. Like Floyd, he doesn’t make for a good start with Antonio Gates playing, but it does help Rivers some.

Antonio Gates is listed as probable, but he was also listed as probable last week and had his snaps cut in half. He hasn’t looked healthy for a few years now, but he will get targets when on the field. I wouldn’t use him in DFS, but at a thin position, he still makes for a decent start in redraft.

Charcandrick West is listed as questionable, but did not practice once this week. With a hamstring injury I doubt he plays and even if he were to be active, I’d shy away from using him. If he’s not active, I’ll be using Spencer Ware wherever possible. The game script should be good for Kansas City’s running game and Ware ran strong last week.

Travis Kelce is listed as questionable. He tweaked his ankle during Friday’s practice and we’ll need to wait for the inactives for him. If he does play he’s worth a start, but this matchup isn’t great and Kelce has been playing poorly on average.

Frank Gore was able to practice after missing Wednesday, so he’ll get the start against the Bucs’ tough run defense. He could lose a few more snaps to Ahmad Bradshaw this week, limiting his potential in a game where his potential is lower than normal.

Jarvis Landry didn’t practice on Wednesday or Friday and is listed as questionable, but coach Dan Campbell expects him to play. If Darrelle Revis weren’t out with a concussion I would suggest fading Landry, but as long as he goes, I think he’s still a must start.

Devonta Freeman is out with a concussion. Tevin Coleman will get the start, and even though didn’t look good last week in relief of Freeman, he still has decent upside against a below average Vikings’ defensive line.

Leonard Hankerson has been ruled out after suffering, what appears to be a reinjured hamstring. Jacob Tamme gets a good boost, as he’ll be the No. 2 target.

Matt Bryant will not play this week and Shayne Graham will take over kicking duties for the Falcons. Adjust accordingly.

Larry Donnell won’t play this week and could be out for a while with a neck injury. Will Tye will get the start and has value in two tight end leagues after catching five –of-seven targets last week.

Prince Amukamara will get the start at right corner after sitting for the last five weeks with a pectoral injury. He should help this Giants pass defense quite a bit and give their D/ST a little boost against turnover machine Kirk Cousins.

As I mentioned in Jarvis Landry’s note, Darrelle Revis is out with a concussion. His absence will have a ripple effect on this Jets’ pass defense and should ease things for Tannehill and company.

Case Keenum is still out with a concussion, so Nick Foles is expected to get the start. There’s not enough difference between the two to move the needle on any of the Rams fantasy prospects, which are almost nil after Todd Gurley.

Greg Zurlein is questionable after injuring his groin in practice. Zach Hocker was signed for insurance. Stay away.

Jordan Reed is not on the injury report after tweaking his knee last week. He gets a great matchup, so start him at will.

Chris Culliver is done for the season, while Bashaud Breeland is listed as questionable with an illness. Breeland is more important to Washington’s pass defense, but any way you look at it; this group is thin and struggling. Fire up Eli and company.

Marshawn Lynch is out after having a sports-hernia surgery and Thomas Rawls will get the start. Rawls has been great this season and even in a tough matchup against the Steelers good run defense, he is a must start.

Brian Hoyer returns this week after sitting due to a concussion last week. He gets a great matchup against the Saints who have allowed insane numbers over the last three weeks to opposing quarterbacks and just horrendous numbers on the season.

Kendall Wright will return to the starting lineup this week and gets a nice matchup. Even with this being his first game back, he makes for a decent upside start against the Raiders.

Cam is going to be the most owned QB for turkey day games and for good reason. He’s just been unstoppable of late, with a high floor when he has a slight down game. Stewart should be able to get some running room against a Dallas defense giving up 155 total yards per game. Lacy ran well last week and this week in a game where the weather might be bad, he Should be the bell cow against a weak Bears run defense.  Philly was just destroyed by Cam and company through the air and I think Megatron and Tate have a nice shot at points, while Dez Bryant is in a tough matchup, but I like playing studs on Thanksgiving, as they often rise in the spotlight. Witten is a safe play, but I could also see going Olsen here and downgrading a WR.

My top plays for FanDuel are QB: Brian Hoyer, Carson Palmer, Eli Manning | RB: T.J. Yeldon, Javorius Allen, Spencer Ware, Doug Martin and Thomas Rawls | WR: Nuk Hopkins, Julio Jones, Odell Beckham Jr., Nate Washington, T.Y. Hilton, Eric Decker, Martavis Bryant, and Larry Fitzgerald | TE: Jordan Reed, Delanie Walker, Heath Miller and Jacob Tamme | K: Jason Myers, Travis Coons, and Chandler Catanzaro | D: Kansas City, NY Giants, Cleveland, Cincinnati

I don’t see much upside to paying up for running backs or quarterbacks this week, with so many good value plays. So Im going to pay up for the receiver position, which I’ve done here with Nuk and OBJ. Doug Martin was robbed of touchdowns last week, but went off anyway. Brian Hoyer gets a Saints pass defense that gives up insane amounts of fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks and Hoyer, even though not looking special, has put up good fantasy numbers this season. With Cecil Shorts, Nate Washington and Hopkins all healthy, I don’t see him having trouble hitting value for his low price. Jordan Reed gets the best tight end matchup of the week and I will be using him as my main TE. Myers has been kicking well, while the Chargers have been giving up tons of field goals of late. KC’s defense has been on fire lately and get Tyrod Taylor at home and Taylor hasn’t been doing much of anything since returning from his knee injury.

DraftDay Lineups (Special for this week)

Cash LU

I feel good enough about Hoyer to put this GPP lineup into cash games this week, but Palmer is the safer cash QB of course. Martin’s price on DraftDay is almost too good to not slot in your lineups. Martavis Bryant should benefit from the attention given Antonio Brown, which gives him plenty of upside and a decent floor as well. I like how Spencer Ware runs. He may get hurt sooner than later because he has little regard for his body, but I’ll take that energy and drive in a game where KC should have the lead. Javorius Allen has a nice floor due to his ability to catch passes and at DraftDay, the 1 point PPR is something I like to take advantage of. Nuk and OBJ are going to be hard to stop this week, both with favorable matchups. Heath Miller is a nice value play against a Seattle team that has been horrible against tight ends. The Bengals either get Case Keenum or Nick Foles, either works for me. T.J. Yeldon also has been seeing some good targets and gets probably the best matchup of the weekend.

DraftKings Lineup Configurations

Thursday Only GPP

There are a few decent choices at QB on the Thursday only 3 game slate, but the one that I think will have the most upside/lowest ownership is Cam Newton. He just keeps getting better every week. Dallas isn’t a great defense and Cam should be able to keep his hot streak going. I don’t normally stack QB/RB but the Dallas Run D isn’t all that good and Stewart presents a great value given his matchup. My other RB is going to be Eddie Lacy. He’s always fared well against the Bears and he should have taken back the lead role last week.   I’m taking a wild approach at WR by going with both Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate. The Philly pass D has been so bad and wild things happen on Thanksgiving in Detroit. James Jones has once again become a reliable target for Aaron Rodgers and Dez Bryant should be able to withstand a much smaller Josh Norman. At TE I love the rapport that Romo and Witten have so I’ll roll Mr. Reliable out there at a bargain price. Finally on defense I’m going to take the team facing the most suspect offense and that’s the Green Bay Packers (although the Lions were definitely in play here as well).

Sunday 50/50

Carson Palmer is now an elite QB. He’s consistently playing well and even without any rushing statistics to help he’s still got a very high floor. A matchup in SF is ideal and he should be able to put up a decent stat line before they feed Chris Johnson to salt the lead. Speaking of that lead, it should be considerable given the poor play of the SF offense, which makes the Cardinals defense an easy cash game play. At RB I want inexpensive guys who are going to get a lot of carries. This week that’s Thomas Rawls (not a great matchup, but he’s playing hot), TJ Yeldon (not a great season but one of the best matchups of the week), and Javorius Allen (all the carries against an extremely weak Cleveland D). I’m going to supplement the risk I’m taking at RB with some serious consistency at WR. Decker, Cooks, and Hopkins are putting up similar statistics every single week; each making value regularly. My TE is a bit of a gamble, but Matt Schaub likes to target his TE and Gillmore has been playing well the last few weeks. This is a very unexciting squad, but a very safe squad.

Sunday GPP

There are a lot of QB/WR stacks to like this week but for my GPP I’m going to take a shot on the Giants duo. With a week off to rest up and prepare I think the Giants are going to come out strong against an overmatched Washington defense. On the other side of the ball I think that DJax is going to get behind the Giants D for a long one as he often does. DeAndre Hopkins can’t be stopped but his price tag might scare some other people away. I’m going to run to him instead of away. I can roster Hopkins because I’m going with a lower priced pair at RB in Chris Johnson (did you see what Rawls did against SF??) and Buck Allen (all the touches now that Forsett is hurt and his matchup is plum). My FLEX is going to be Travis Benjamin who seems to do his best work when Johnny Football is playing QB. The Ravens pass D is terrible and he should be able to get a large number of catches in this one. Don’t look now, but Seattle is the team to target when playing a TE these days. That TE this week is Heath Miller. He’s priced low and few people are going to be on him. At defense I want to target whichever QB is run out by STL so the Bengals are the team to play. They’ll be overlooked this week because of how badly Carson Palmer burned them on Sunday night. Case Keenum and Nick Foles are not Carson Palmer.

Hey everyone. Not much happened to the players I used in my original lineups, and I still like how they look. If you have any questions at all, please hit me up on Twitter @Bankster17. Good luck!

Thursday GPP

Happy Thanksgiving! Small slates are really hard to predict, but hey, we’ll do our best to help you win. Before going further, however, it’s important to note you want to limit your bankroll exposure on slates with only 2 or 3 games. The variance in lineups is so much less than on normal slates, so don’t go and enter a ton of lineups because skill is more overshadowed by luck in these limited slates than on a usual Sunday. That being said….

Stafford/Megatron against the Philly pass D? Yes, please. The Eagles’ decent first half pass D has vanished in the past three games, giving up 762 yards, 10 TDs with only one interception against Cassel, Tannehill and Winston. Unlike Oakland last week, the Eagles’ offense should be able to score as well, so Stafford should be slinging all game long. Philly’s D is 31st against opposing WR1’s. This is not the week to bench Calvin. Golden Tate is also a good play, while Theo Riddick could provide some needed salary relief if you want to move off of any of the players I have listed. Cam Newton’s legs give him such a great floor. I’m pairing him with Olsen this week against the Cowboys in what should be a close matchup. While a QB like Mark Sanchez may offer the best upside for the price, I am playing it a little safer on the limited slate, even in a tournament. If you are entering multiple lineups in a single tournament, however, look towards Sanchez as a cheap play with high upside.

Mathews should be out again this week, which means Sproles should be more involved again. I like him as a high upside play again. Eddie Lacy finally broke free last week and usually excels in nasty weather. Thursday’s game calls for a wet 35 degrees. That is Eddie Lacy weather. He may have been terrible for 2/3 of the season, but this is his time to shine. It just so happens he ran for 85/1TD against the Bears earlier this season. I think those numbers are easily achievable again. This lineup, as you’ll notice, is RB heavy. Assuming Forte is back, I like him in a matchup against a team he usually torments. Just make sure he’s playing, as he plays at night and lineups lock at 12:30 EST (9:30 AM PST) this Thursday. At DST, even with Forte back, I like the Packers, a 9 point favorite at home. The Panthers are safer, but I’ll roll with the Pack today.

Sunday GPP

Brian Hoyer. Not counting the game against the Bengals in which he left early due to a concussion, he had scored at least 19.6 FP on FantasyAces in five straight games. This week he gets a matchup against the 32nd ranked (yes, last) QB defense: the New Orleans Saints. They are horrid. Horrrrrrrrrrid. Hoyer will be finding Hopkins, Shorts, Washington, Blue and Hopkins (did I mention Hopkins?) repeatedly. The only way he scores below that aforementioned number here is if Alfred Blue runs wild. While I’m expecting a very good game from Blue (wouldn’t you know, the Saints can’t stop RBs either!), Hoyer will have plenty of time to do damage in other ways, especially because Brees will keep it close. I didn’t think that I’d be rostering three Texans in a lineup when the season started (especially with Foster out), but here we are. I’m going heavy on mid-priced RBs in Blue, Javorius “Buck” Allen, and Chris Johnson. Johnson gets a rematch against the Niners, who he torched for 110 and 2TDs earlier this season. He should find the end zone again after three week break. Allen gets a matchup against the Browns, who, while better in the past three weeks, are still giving up the 7th most FPs to RBs on the season. The only reason their numbers looked good on the ground is because they have been getting torched in the air, to the tune of 1,010 yards and 10 TDs.

So, why the heck did I start them at DST? Matt Schaub. While I think Allen will have a very solid game and easily hit value, Schaub is an absolute nightmare. He is the pick-six king and has nothing but backups to throw to, although Crockett Gillmore is beginning to look like the real deal. He’ll be getting the bulk of the passing work this week for the Ravens. I expect at least a couple of sacks and turnovers for the Browns. A TD certainly is not out of the question here. Antonio Brown is matchup proof. The Seahawks have been awful on D. If you watched the game this past week, you’d know; they made Gabbert and the 49ers look like they belonged on the field…in Seattle. They were torched by Palmer and the Cards and will suffer the same fate to Big Ben and Antonio.

Sunday 50/50

Hoyer/Hopkins/Brown/Johnson/Reed are staples of mine in cash games and tournaments this week. I love the floors and the extremely high upsides they offer. I didn’t mention Reed above, but he gets a dream matchup against a Giants defense giving up the 3rd most points to TEs on the season. He had a respectable 12.6 FP against New York earlier this season, without a TD. Cousins will find him early and often in this game; he should easily be the #1 receiving option for Washington this week. So, what other changes are here in the cash lineup? Eli Manning slots in with a choice game against Washington. Anything lower than a 3X return on value would shock me. Washington is not as bad as last week’s showing would suggest, but the Giants always have their number. I wanted to pair him with Odell, but Hopkins and Brown are locked into the lineup, so I couldn’t fit in another $6K+ WR. Oh well.

Cincy has a great matchup at home against a Case Keenum led Rams team who just allowed a trod upon Ravens D to score 15 FP in Week 11. I’m all over this Bengals matchup this week in cash games. Thomas Rawls slots in because it looks like Lynch may miss another game. We’ll see. The matchup isn’t great, but the talent is just too much to ignore. If Seattle wants to win they’ll have to establish a ground game, even if it’s in the form of screens to Rawls. We know what he can do given proper blocking. Lastly — and the only real question mark on this lineup — is Brian Hartline. Hartline has taken over the #2 receiving role in Cleveland with Hawkins dealing with concussions. In the past two games he has caught 10 passes on 19 targets for 2 TDs. While I don’t necessarily expect another 10-15 FP output this week, even against a suspect Ravens pass D, a 6-8 FP showing would be very respectable for a punt. The cash saved by using him has helped bolster the other positions, so win-win.

Sunday GPP Lineup UPDATED

There aren’t a lot of changes here, actually. I’ve swapped out Mariota with McCown, who will now start for Cleveland. Earlier this season he tore apart Baltimore’s awful pass defense, something he should have no trouble doing again (though, we need to temper our expectations a bit…he’s not going to throw for another 450+ yards!). I’ve added his favorite target as a TE option: Gary Barnidge. Week after week, Gary’s ownership levels have been low. Why? He goes out and produces 15+ points every week it seems! It’s an outrage, I tell you. An outrage!! By switching to McCown, I had enough money left over to switch from the Browns to the Chiefs, who have huge upside this week at home against the Bills. Tyrod may start, but I like them anyways. They’ve been on fire. I also had enough cash to bump up my FLEX option to DeSean Jackson, who has a fantastic upside-laden matchup against the Giants.

A very simple, but good start to DFS research is to look at the over/unders and odds. Obviously you want your players in games where Vegas believes the game will be high scoring and on winning teams, while your defenses should come from games they believe will be low scoring.
