Week 10 Ranksauce November 7, 2012  |  gregsauce

I had to hit the campaign trail last week, but it was all worth it because the Ranksauce has been reelected to its seat on The Fake Football rankings committee (so what if I ran unopposed?). I built my campaign on a platform of government-subsidized Super Bowl parties and tax-free rankings. Obviously, it paid off. Eight more weeks! Eight more weeks! Eight more weeks!

Need your opinion on a PPR Flex Start from Felix, PT or I could drop Titus for E.Sanders and plug him in for my injured Antonio? Thanx

  2. mikeytuna says:

Which two would you start at WR in a non-PPR league: Jones, Moore, Lloyd, or Nicks?
Also, looking for a high-upside flex between any of the aforementioned WRs and Quizz and Redman. Thanks.

  3. Icaro says:

    Hi greg!

Britt or Nate this week ?!

  4. Jay Ferreira says:

Hey Greg, im going crazy back and forth between Lloyd, A Johnson and M. Williams(TB). I need 2 and can talk myself in and out of all these guys. What do you think?

  5. ccRagnar says:

i see you’ve got stevie johnson ranked higher than others do… do you have a more detailed take on that guy? i’m worried about starting him, but my best alternative would be danny amendola vs the niners, which as far as i can tell is just a flier really. besides which iv’e talked myself into benching johnson before and then regretted it. what are the odds amendola outperforms johnson? i could also start nate washington on the chance that jake locker comes out hot.

    • gregsauce says:

I’m routinely higher on Stevie than most other rankers, but this week everyone should be high on him. The Patriots allow the 4th-most fantasy points to wide receivers. While it’s true they shut Stevie down earlier this season, in his four games prior to that against the Pats, he had 20 receptions for 258 yards and 3 touchdowns.

  6. Jermichael says:

14 Team PPR: Who would you rather have on your bench, Kendall Hunter or Daryl Richardson. I have hunter but DRich just got dropped.

  7. y4rivera says:

In a keeper league an owner out of contention offered me Ray Rice ($50) straight up for Doug Martin ($20). I’m in first place and my current backs are McCoy, Martin, Forte, DMC, and Mendy (start up to 4). I feel I should decline because the value for Martin is too good for next year and I’m already deep at rb. Right move?

  8. phil says:

Hey Greg, T.Young or Amendola? Wilson or Tannehill? Standard Scoring. Thx!

  9. Jermichael says:

10 Team PPR, 6-3, 2nd place. Who would you rather stash Beanie or Mendenhall. I currently have Beanie stashed but someone just dropped Mendenhall.

  10. B.J. says:

Need a flex this week. Options are: Hilton, SJax, DHB, Drich, N. Washington, Daniel Thomas. Have Forte and Spiller at RB and Dem. Thomas, Bowe and Lance Moore at WR (Fitz is usually my WR2). Who gets the nod?

  11. Blanket says:

Britt/Denarius/J-stew as a flex this week?

  12. Blanket says:

Kind of hurting at RB: I have Rice, Trent, and then J-Stew. J-Stew has not been the “feature” back we have all expected, so I can’t trust him in my flex. I have Brady starting with Freeman on the bench. I’m going to trade Freeman for a RB, but would you rather have MJD, Turner, or Spiller for Freeman if I can get one of them?

  13. Jermichael says:

14 Team PPR: looking to try to make a trade, not many happen in this league,. My team: Staff, Mega, Decker, Crabtree, Martin, Andre Brown, Bennett, Janikowski, SF D, Britt, Alex Green, A Smith, K Hunter, Beanie. Only team that will trade: Vick, S Smith, Julio, Amendola, Taiwan, Draughn, Hern, Hartley, Pitt, law firm, Dalton, Jacquizz, Demarco, Cin. Any suggestions?

    • gregsauce says:

You could try to trade for DeMarco while he’s still hurt. Maybe offer Crabtree or Britt. If he doesn’t bite, sweeten the deal with Green or Hunter.

  14. sonofabeachy says:

Can I ask why you’re so low on Taiwan Jones? Was thinking of starting him over Pierre Thomas at FLEX, but it seems like most are not too bullish on his chances.

I figure it’s either his lack of use to this point in 2012, his matchup, or the fact that 1 of DMac/Goodson could potentially be ready this weekend (which I don’t think will happen). But if it’s mostly due to OAK’s murky backfield, that could be straightened out by game time.

    • gregsauce says:

I expect the Raiders to be pass-happy while playing from behind against the Ravens. Jones will get a handful of carries, but Reece should be get all the action in the passing game.

  15. stumanji says:

Start 2 RB/2 WR/Flex in no PPR. My RBs are Martin, T-Rich, Murray, Felix Jones, R. Jennings, & Don Brown. Should I try to package, say, T-Rich/Murray/Felix for an upgrade or keep my depth? WRs are Cruz, Wayne, Bowe, & Cobb.

  16. JT says:

2QB league, I have Rodgers on a bye and other owners have been stashing multiple QB’s on their bench. My choices are….Gabbert, Locker(read he was starting) or trade my worst bench player(S-Jax) for Wilson. What do you think?

    • gregsauce says:

Gabbert is the safest choice, but Wilson has more upside (even if Locker plays this week, I don’t trust him to play well). Ask yourself how much you really need S-Jax going forward and evaluate the potential trade based on the answer.

  17. Mr. Sauce – trade help please! I’m now 3-6 in our 10 team PPR and I’m desperate for a win or I’m toast. I’m trying to improve at WR, but I’ve got very few possible trade partners (shallow league). There’s a 4-5 team that I want to pry Austin from (Marshall would likely be impossible) and was thinking of offering Bowe & Heath Miller for Austin. If he doesn’t go for it is there a trade in here that improves me at WR that you think helps both teams? Being that I’m desperate to improve immediately, would Bowe, Miller & LeShoure for Austin & Celek be too much? Thanks.
    My team:
    QB: Romo
RB: McCoy, TRich (5th rnd keeper), LeShoure, Murray, R.Jennings
WR: Harvin, Bowe, D.Moore, L.Moore, Britt
    TE: Graham / H.Miller
His team (he has an open roster spot, is #1 on waivers, and has 2 DEF):
    QB: Roethlisberger / Vick
    RB: Lynch, McFadden, Stewart
WR: B.Marshall, Austin, Maclin, Boldin, S.Moss
    TE: Celek

    • gregsauce says:

Bowe/Miller for Austin would be a nice deal for you. You could also try something like LeShoure for Austin or LeShoure/Miller for Marshall.

  18. Lou says:

    Willis McGehee or Rashad Jennings?

  19. Sully says:

    10 team PPR:
Flex, should I start Hicks, Maclin, Hilton or Redman?
    Also, Eli over Freeman?
Keep Redman on my bench or pick up Dwyer or look elsewhere on the wire?
And, finally, I ended trading for Demaryius Thomas. I already had Decker, but the trade was too good. Thoughts? Think they’re ok to start 1-2 for the rest of the season, or should I put together another trade for one of them? I’m starting Peterson and Rice at RB.
Lots if questions, I know. Thanks for the help.

    • gregsauce says:

I don’t know who “Hicks” is, but I’m assuming you meant Hakeem Nicks. Anyway, if Redman starts for the Steelers, he’s your flex. Otherwise, I’d use Maclin. As for your QB, I’d use Eli over Freeman. Regarding having two WR from the same team, I’m not a big fan. It’s not the worst thing in the world, but it could really hurt you if Peyton Manning has a bad game.

  20. emceeperiod says:

    Kudos on the election!
Anyway, I’m thinking of offering Andre Johnson and Daryl Richardson for DMC. I read something on here about flipping AJohnson due to his recent performance and unlikely continuance of that. I feel like I can get DMC since he’s not playing this weekend. What are your thoughts on this? I mean, knowing DMC, he could be out for 2 years with this injury, or maybe back next week.

    • gregsauce says:

I like the idea of selling Andre Johnson as a big name, but I wouldn’t trade for DMC before we know more about his injury.

  21. John says:

seen lots of sites, but none agree.. dustin keller or dwayne allen in 1/2ppr. thanks.
