Eddie Lacy is out. James Starks just got a whole lot safer and is a great play in all formats.

Wind in Oakland is concerning for the passing and kicking game there. Sustained winds of 25-30 mph will make it tough to get anything working down field.

Injury Report:

Marshawn Lynch missed practice on Friday with an abdominal injury and is listed as questionable. Pete Carroll still expects him to play, but I’d have a backup in redraft if possible and fade him in daily fantasy.

Emmanuel Sanders gets a great matchup against Kansas City, but hasn’t practiced this week with an ankle injury. He was able to play with it last week and I think he’ll give it a go, but I’m going to downgrade him, especially in daily fantasy. Be sure you have a back-up plan if you have Manny.

John Brown is still hurting with a hamstring injury, but was able to get in limited practices this week. He most likely will play, but if you could have a backup for him it would be advisable.

The Rams still have some injuries on defense with Robert Quinn and T.J. McDonald listed as questionable and Chris Long as doubtful. Of course the Rams defense remains a good play, but for Daily Fantasy, I think you can knock them down a little, especially with the Bears offense looking decent and Alshon Jeffery getting a limited practice in on Friday.

Jeffery is still a risky play, but if he goes it’s hard to sit him. Matt Forte on the other hand looks close to playing, but the odds are against him suiting up. For fantasy, that’s good news, as Forte and Jeremy Langford would most likely split time in Forte’s first game back. If it’s just Langford, you can use him even against the tough Rams defense.

Eddie Royal is out and if Jeffery were to sit, that would put Marquess Wilson atop the wide receiver depth chart. For the right price in DFS he would be worthwhile as the No. 1 receiver.

All signs point to Landry Jones starting for the Steelers, which limits his pass catchers. He’s had success with Martavis Bryant this year in limited time, but it still feels like too small of a sample size. Both Bryant and Antonio Brown are startable, but I’ll be staying away from them in daily fantasy, as I think the Steelers can win this game on the ground with DeAngelo Williams.

Johnny Manziel looks like he’ll get the start over an injured Josh McCown. Keep an eye to make sure that information holds, because I like Travis Benjamin and Gary Barnidge if McCown finds a way to play, but as it is, I’m down on all the Browns receivers.

Allen Hurns says he is “very confident” that he’ll play despite not practicing all week. As long as he goes, I could see using him in daily fantasy tournaments and in redraft, but he’s got some risk that I don’t want to take on if I can help it. But it is good news for Blake Bortles, who could use a less than 100% Hurns.

Eddie Lacy is listed as questionable with a groin injury, but he was able to get in limited practices all week. Lacy has lost his starting job to James Starks, but the breakdown of their touches is still in question. His groin injury does help move Starks up the ranks a bit and makes him a bit safer in DFS.

Calvin Johnson was limited on Wednesday and Thursday and then didn’t practice on Friday, but it doesn’t appear to be a setback, just some rest to get him ready for Sunday. And if Sam Shields (questionable) cant go, I like Megatron quite a bit, even with the nagging ankle. The Packers should have no trouble scoring on Detroit, which should keep Matthew Stafford throwing.

For some reason Austin-Seferian Jenkins continues to practice, but has yet to be active. Add in Vincent Jackson missing again and you have a similar scenario as to the last two games where Mike Evans has totaled 28 targets. Of course he’s had trouble catching all of those, but it’s still a positive overall for his stats.

Sean Lee is out with a concussion, while Anthony Hitchens and Rolando McClain are questionable, which should help Doug Martin and Charles Sims against this Cowboys defense that’s been getting gashed by opposing running backs.

Dez Bryant was held out of practice on Wednesday, but he is listed as probable with a great matchup.

Kendall Wright is out again, so Dorial Green-Beckham will again see a lot of work. He’ll see Josh Norman some, but I doubt he’s worth the extra game planning to shadow him. He gets a tough matchup either way, but has some appeal based on ability and usage.

DeSean Jackson has been declared 100-percent healthy by his offensive coordinator, but does get the toughest matchup as he’ll square off with Delvin Breaux, but this Saints defense has all kinds of holes in it and DJax should be able to put something together this week.

Willie Snead is probable after missing practice on Thursday. He appears good to go, but does get a pass defense that is getting healthier.

Teddy Bridgewater will play, which helps Stefon Diggs in a great matchup. I am slightly concerned with the weather with predicted wind gusts of 23 mph, but if the sustained wind stays under 20-mph I’m not going to swerve too far from him.

Cash LU 1

Cash LU 1

Cash LU 1: I have a Packers stack going in this one and I feel pretty good about it. Rodgers put up huge numbers last week in a loss to Carolina and now he gets to head back to Lambeau to face a poor Lions defense.  Rodgers and company should take out their frustrations on the Lions and have the second highest projected points with 3o.  I think Cobb, Starks and Rodgers put it to Detroit. Allen Robinson gets a great matchup and may need to compensate a bit for Allen Hurns if he’s not 100%. Todd Gurley will be at home against a weak Bears defense and no matter the score, he’s in there. He’s the safest RB play this week. Chris Givens is the wildcard of this bunch, but as a starter in a game where the Ravens project as the fifth highest scoring team of the weekend, I think he gets enough to be worth his low price. Jordan Reed is my favorite TE going for his price. I’d love to have Gronk this week, but I’ll need to skimp at QB and RB to get that to happen and I’ll probably save that strategy for GPPs. Reed is the third best fantasy tight end on a per game basis and gets a great matchup. Brandon McManus has killed it at home in the thin air of Mile High and the Broncos are the safest D/ST going.

GPP LU 1: Cousins will need to throw to keep up with the revived Saints and with DeSean Jackson and Jordan Reed both healthy, I think his upside is much higher than usual. Other than those two, this lineup is geared more to a cash game, with DeAngelo Williams, Gurley, ARob, Cobb and Reed all at the top of my safe plays for this week.

Cash LU 2

Cash LU 2

Cash Lineup 2: As long as Allen Hurns is a go, i feel good bout Bortles as a cash game play and I think Hurns will end up playing. DeAngelo is my favorite RB this week based on value with Ingram and Blount close behind. Washington has been giving up heaps of yardage to RBs of late and even though Ingram has been shut out of the end zone lately, he has played a ton with Khiry Robinson out and when you add that to Washington’s poor rush D lately, I think he gets into the end zone this week. Thomas gets a nice matchup and could see extra work due to Emmanuel Sanders’ ankle injury. Jarvis Landry gets the toughest matchup for the Dolphins this week against slot cover man Malcolm Jenkins, so I like Matthews to see extra work in a nice matchup.

Week10 Sunday GPP UPDATE

DraftKings Lineup Configurations

Thursday GPP

Did you know that Blake Bortles is averaging 300 yards and 2+TD over his last five games? Well, he is and this week he gets one of the two worst passing defenses in the league in the Ravens. I’m pairing him with ARob and expecting a big game from both. I wanted to go solid at RB and that’s AP and DWill. Both are workhorse backs that have very good matchups. I do expect DeAngelo to be very highly owned but I’m pretty sure I’ll differentiate with the Jacksonville stack. Demaryius is facing the worst passing D in the league and it’s been a while since he’s exploded. That should happen this week. Brandin Cooks has had 3 solid weeks in a row and should make it 4 this week against the Redskins. Blount should get all the carries against a weak Giants D. Kyle Rudolph is the latest TE to take his shot against the Raiders. I think a lot of people are going to be on Gronk and Eifert, so I’m going to take a chance to save some money and hopefully get a guy that can return 3X value. Philly is one of my favorite D’s to play because they get at the QB and force turnovers. Their special teams are a nice bonus as well if Sproles or Huff can break one.

Sunday 50/50

Cam Newton is both underappreciated and safe. He’s got a high floor, which is a definite plus for a cash game. He should be able to put up a solid game against the Titans this week.   At RB I’ve got 3 guys who should see the majority of carries for their teams, and with Miller and Starks they should be able to catch a few passes out of the backfield as well. Those extra catches should help give them a solid cash game base score. At WR I’ve got three guys who wouldn’t seem to be big cash game plays but they are all getting targets and have solid matchups. Targets = points. Delanie Walker is a solid TE play every week for a small hit to your cap. The Packers shouldn’t have a problem giving Matthew Stafford fits.

Sunday GPP

Did you see what Marcus Mariota did last week to New Orleans? This week it’s Kirk Cousins and Jordan Reed taking aim at the Saints sieve. Cousins has had big games this year against porous passing defenses and with his cost it won’t take a monster game to exceed value. I didn’t want to mess around with RB since I’m taking a risk at QB so I’m going with my top 3 guys in AP, DWill, and Gurley. In order to afford the RB I had to drop down a little at WR and go with LaFell in a good matchup against the Giants, Sanders in a great matchup against the Chiefs, and Adams who is hopefully back on track after his solid game against Carolina last week. The Rams are a top D and I want to make sure I don’t do something silly at D to cost me a big week.

There’s something so terribly appealing about putting Peyton Manning into my lineup with an expected low ownership. He’s not the guy he used to be, but this is the KC defense we’re talking about. Demaryius Thomas hasn’t done much in a while and I can see Peyton going out of his way to feed his big dog. The prices are down on both guys so it won’t take a monster game for these guys to hit 3x value. At RB I’m looking for guys who have good matchups and are on track to get the bulk of work for their teams. Check and check. Jacksonville should be able to throw all over Baltimore, and vice versa, so getting both ARob and Aiken in my lineup seemed like a good idea. The Raiders can’t defend the pass at all and Diggs is priced right to take advantage of that. Eifert, not Gronk, has been the best TE in football this year and you can get him for over $2K less than Gronk. I always love the Eagles D, and they’re an even better play against mistake-prone Miami.

FantasyAces Lineup Configurations

Thursday GPP

While I usually dislike Thursday players, I often provide lineups with a few players from the game to show what is possible. This matchup, however, has no appeal to me whatsoever. If I were forced to pick a couple of players, then I would look to either Eric Decker in cash games and Robert Woods as a deep tournament play. Decker seemingly scores TDs every week, and Woods will be more of a focus this week for the Bills with Watkins on Revis Island. That being said, this is probably the most unpredictable Thursday game of the season and I’m staying away…..Far away. Feel free to use one of the Sunday lineups for your Thursday entries.

Sunday 50/50

Cousins and Bortles in a cash game? Yeah, I know…it sounds weird to me as well. However, these guys get matchups against the two worst defenses against QBs. Both should easily flirt with 300 yards and multiple TDs this week. The yardage is especially key as FantasyAces gives 1 FP per 20 passing yards, which is much more generous than the usual 1 per 25 you see on basically every other site. This lineup is RB and TE heavy, starting with DeAngelo Williams, who should be the focus of the Pittsburgh offense while Roethlisberger is sidelined. Cleveland is terrible against opposing RBs and Williams has been dynamic in each of his three starts. Murray has actually turned it on as of late and has had solid fantasy output in three out of his past four games. He gets a Dolphins’ D that was gashed for over 260 yards on the ground last week. In the same light, Ingram gets a solid matchup against Washington. While he doesn’t always get huge yardage on the ground, he makes up for it in the air. At TE I’m going with Reed and Olsen. Reed is Cousins’ favorite target and should get a ton of looks against the 2nd worst TE defense in the league. Olsen is basically matchup proof and has been the most consistent TE producer. At WR, I’m going with target monsters Jarvis Landry and Allen Robinson. At DST, it’s hard to avoid using Denver in cash games. They are just too good. Even when they play poorly like they did against the Colts, they still found a way to get you 7 FP.

Sunday GPP

There are a lot of similar pieces here, so I won’t rehash the analysis except to emphasize that I love the upside for both Cousins and Bortles. Both could legitimately get you 30+ FP this week. I’m matching Cousins with DeSean Jackson this week. While I’m strictly avoiding Jackson in cash games (as in, you couldn’t pay me to put him in a cash lineup), he is one of the best deep threats in this league and is going up against one of the worst secondaries in the league. Sign me up. Not many people will be on him either as he gave us a fantasy dud last week. I love Gronkowski this week. While he’s been hit or miss and has ruined a lot of DFS lineups in recent weeks, the matchup here is too good to pass up; New York is giving up the 3rd most FP to TEs in 0.5 and 1 PPR formats. As Doug Shain (who puts together the DraftKings lineups for this cheat sheet) would say, “Gronk should Gronk.” Stefon Diggs should get back on track this week in a dream matchup against the Raiders. Fortunately, Teddy Bridgewater passed concussion protocol and will play this week, which is great news for Diggs owners. At D, there are few teams with the upside of the Eagles who are TD favorites at home this week. If you don’t like them, you could move to the Packers who I like at home against the Lions.

This first update is quite similar to the previous GPP lineup I already posted. No matter how hard I try, I just can’t see must justification from moving away from the Cousins/Bortles stack (and no, I did not envision those words when the season started!). They have the two best matchups of the weekend and could legitimately pass for 700 combined yards; I’d be shocked if they combined for fewer than 600. I’m pairing them with Allen Robinson and DeSean Jackson again, the latter of whom is very risky. He’s supposedly 100% healthy currently. While I’m not sure I believe that entirely, he did see 6 targets last week and I’m willing to take a chance on him in large tournaments this week. He’s a boom-or-bust play that could win you tournaments…or at least help you place above the red line. I switched up the two FLEX positions and filled them with two solid RBs in Gurley (who is unstoppable, no matter the matchup) and Blount, who should see a ton of work going forward without Lewis to steal carries. If they get within the 5, Blount has a very good chance to score. At D, I switched over to St. Louis. They have not scored fewer than 11 FP at home this season, a streak I think continues this week against Chicago.

Sunday 5050 UPDATE

I added the 4th lineup above with the news that Lacy will be out. Starks is a near must play now. Get him in there!!!

A very simple, but good start to DFS research is to look at the over/unders and odds. Obviously you want your players in games where Vegas believes the game will be high scoring and on winning teams, while your defenses should come from games they believe will be low scoring.
