  1. Alex says:

I was offered Jerome Simpson for Alfred Morris in PPR. Thoughts?

Long term value of Andrew Hawkins versus Donnie Avery in PPR?

  2. Jeff says:

    @trick dad: K. Smith

  3. trick dad says:

lynch or k. smith this week at rb2?

  4. Jeff says:

@Nate: until I figure out how the looks will be distributed in STL, I would go with Rice. I need to see signs of life out of the Rams passing game before I would feel comfortable with them.

  5. Nate says:

in a .5ppr, would you start Rice or Amendola?

  6. BHowe says:

    Thanks Jeff.

  7. Jeff says:

@dean: I think I would do the deal. You’re downgrading from Ryan to Cutler, but but the other two guys in the deal would bring you upgrades. You’d be left with Cutler, RG3 and Wilson, which isn’t horrible. I think Marshall is a great pickup as well. And yes, I would trade Lloyd for MJD.

@BHowe: I would still stick with Willis. He’s your safest bet for a solid workload.

  8. BHowe says:

Hi dudes. Anyone want to tell me who to pick for the Flex position, big league, standard rules, from…

Willis McGahee, Jonathan Dwyer, Mike Williams TB, Austin Collie?

It would normally be Willis, but his record against the Steelers is woeful… Cheers.

  9. dean says:

    Guys – (12-tm redraft, .75 PPR) QB-flex best-ball league.

Would you give up ryan/harvin/bradshaw to get cutler/marshall/graham? other QBs are RG3 & Rwilson, other TEs are Olsen & Celek. .75 PPR.

Really want graham, but would have to give up ryan to get him. The drop-off from ryan to cutler kinda scares me, but drop-off from graham to olsen/celek is also big. Worth it in a QB-flex league?

Also, would you trade Lloyd for MJD?

  10. Jeff says:

@DiRo: VJax and Smith this week.

@Johnny Kielbasa: I like that setup. Go NateWa, Garcon, Harvin

@Robert: I don’t think your RBs are too terrible, but if you want to make a move, I would try Benson/Wayne for Richardson.

  11. Robert says:

Hey guys, not particularly confident about my RBs (SJax, Gore, Ridley, Benson), so I was thinking about trading for Trent Richardson. I’m feel fairly strong at WR (Megatron, Julio, Britt, Wayne, Collie), and Richardson’s owner is looking for some WR help. It’s a 12-tm, standard league, 2WR, 2RB, 1W/R/T. Think I should make a move, or hold for now? What kind of package would you try to send over if you did make a move?

  12. Johnny Kielbasa says:

2 WRs, 2RB, Flex….Garcon, N. Washington, Harvin, Heyward-Bey, Gore, Redman, McGahee, Spiller, MJD.

Thinking of flexing a WR (likely leaving Heyward Bey on bench)..and going Gore, McGahee @ RB. Thoughts?

  13. DiRo says:

Need to fill 2 spots; MJD, Wallace, K. Smith, V. Jackson in a standard scoring league.

  14. Jeff says:

    @ Fence: 1a) young 1b) hillis 2) Rudolph

@JP: Stay away from Witten tonight.

    @DiRo: No, I would start T. Smith.

  15. DiRo says:

Would you start Garçon over T. Smith in a standard espn league?

  16. JP says:

Witten is active and I had already grabbed Rudolph just in case. Start Witten or Rudolph?

  17. Fence says:

Non-PPR, super flex: Would you play either Kyle Rudolph or Titus Young (or both) over Peyton Hillis?

  18. marcus says:

who would you start, just need 1 please? Flex position, PPR league: Hillis, McGahee, Donald Brown, Robert Meachem, Randall Cobb.THX

  19. Manuel says:

I’m in one of the Fake Football leagues. I have Decker and A. Brown on deck for this week but my WR3 position is where I don’t know who to put there, my options are: Randall Cobb, Emmanuel Sanders and Reggie Wayne. Who has the better matchup and upside for this first week?
Second question, I have Jermaine Gresham and Kyle Rudolph as TE, I feel Gresham’s matchup is worse than Rudolph but Ponder and the Vikes offense are not reliable, which one would you start?

  20. Jarviz James says:

Start 1, no ppr. Torrey Smith, Stevie Johnson, Nate Washington?

  21. Jacen says:

Who to start at rb/wr flex .5ppr:
Donald Brown, Torrey Smith, Stevan Ridley, Kendall Wright, Kendall Hunter

    • Mike Braude says:

I’d start Ridley, he’s facing the Titans – a game the Patriots should have control of – and I expect him to receive around 20 touches. Should have a really productive week. Also really like Torrey Smith but I’d play Ridley ahead of him this week.

  22. Chris says:

Need 1 WR to start out of S. Rice, M. Williams, or T. Young.

  23. Bandit says:

We can run a 2 RB 3 WR format or a 1 RB 4 WR format.

I have at RB: DMC, Reggie Bush (plus some injury gambles)
I have at WR: Andre Johnson, Cruz, Welker, Maclin, VJAX

I am leaning toward pairing McFadden with Andre, Cruz, Welker and Maclin. Is that my best lineup this week (to go with Ryan at QB)?

    • Denny says:

DMC’s a no brainer. Run with him every week, no matter the matchup. I see Cruz abusing Dallas’s slot cover guys. I might go VJax over Maclin, but I don’t think you’ll be burned either way.

  24. DiRo says:

Woukd you start K. Smith or E. Decker in a flex spot for a standard head to head ESPN league?

    • Asher Molk says:

Hey DiRo- Its close, and when its close I give the tie to the running back. Smith also has the easier defensive matchup, I would go with him.

  25. Mark says:

In a PPR league. Drop Dwyer for Pierre Thomas for a backup running back position? Thomas had 50 catches last year. Don’t like Dwyers long term viability

  26. Mikey says:

Have to start two of three RBs: FJax, SJax or Smith.
You both have SJax ahead of Smith, but with the ankle better, might be be the sneakier play in what will likely be a high scoring Rams/Lions game?

    • Mr. Smith says:

Yeah, I like Smith this week as well. Why so little love? He’s explosive, plays on a good offense, and is playing against one of the worst defenses in football.

In fact, I’m starting him over DeMarco Murray this week. I don’t like Murray against the staunch NYG run defense.

    • Mike Braude says:

I think it could be a sneaky play but you gotta go with your starters in Week 1. I’d start the Jacksons.

    • gregsauce says:

      I’m with Mike, start F-Jax and S-Jax.

  27. Bro says:

Earlier this week you suggested I drop Pead for Dwyer instead of Jacquizz. Is that still your opinion with the news of Mendys recovery? I already have Ryan/Julio from ATL.

  28. Hayes says:

Racking my brain. Have 2 spots for Collie, Rudolph and Olsen.

  29. Jacen says:

Just drafted in a 12 team .5ppr 6pts for all TD’s league and there are no rules for having to draft a D/ST and I’m wondering who to drop to pick one up.  Here’s my team (we play qb, 2rb, 2wr, 1w/r, te, pk, d/st):

    QB:  Ryan, Wilson
    RB:  McFadden, Murray, D. Brown,
            Ridley, Mendenhall, Hunter
    WR: Julio, Antonio Brown, Torrey
            Smith, Kendall Wright
    TE:  Pettigrew
Planning on grabbing the Bills D. Thoughts?

    • gregsauce says:

It comes down to Mendy, Hunter, and Wright, to me. With the news that Mendenhall could play as early as week 1, you need to hold on to him for now and assess his involvement in that offense. I’d hold Hunter for similar (non-injury) reasons. If either of those RBs ends up in a starting role in week 3, you’ll be kicking yourself for dropping him for a defense.

That leaves Wright. He’s got a lot of talent, but his QB is raw and he’ll be competing with Nate Washington, Kenny Britt (when he returns), and Jared Cook for targets. Also consider that you only need to start 2 WR and ask yourself how often you realistically think Wright would start ahead of Jones, Brown, and Smith. You lose a little depth at WR, but I’d drop Wright.

  30. Jacen says:

Just drafted in a 12 team .5ppr 6pts for all TD’s league and there are no rules for having to draft a D/ST and I’m wondering who to drop to pick one up.  Here’s my team (we play qb, 2rb, 2wr, 1w/r, te, pk, d/st):

    QB:  Ryan, Wilson
    RB:  McFadden, Murray, D. Brown,
            Ridley, Mendenhall, Hunter
    WR: Julio, Antonio Brown, Torrey
            Smith, Kendall Wright
    TE:  Pettigrew
    PK:  Bryant

Planning on grabbing the Bills D. Thoughts?

  31. Shamir says:

IS Pierre Garcon worth a start over any of the following: VJaxk, Demariyus Thomas or Antonio Brown?

  32. Dubs says:

Gotta drop 1 in a ppr. Holmes, DMoore, Amendola, Quizz (my RB5). Other WRs are StevieJ, N8 Wash, Britt.

  33. Shogun says:

Trade McCoy, Murray, DHB for DMC, Martin, Julio? Have Mathews, Benson, D.Wilson, Nicks, Lloyd, Wayne.

    • gregsauce says:

If you can stomach the injury risk at RB with DMC and Mathews, the upgrade from DHB to Julio Jones is pretty significant. I’d do the deal, but keeping McCoy and Murray is probably the safer play.

  34. Alex says:

Waiting for mathews to get healthy so who to play at flex out of : s. holmes, collie, lafell, p.thomas, g.little?

    • gregsauce says:

I’d rank those guys Holmes, Collie, Little, LaFell, then Thomas, but Collie and LaFell probably have the most upside.

    • Mike Braude says:

I’d rank Collie first, I’m worried about the Jets ability to get Holmes the ball against Buffalo’s solid D-line. Luck will be looking for Collie and they’ll likely fall behind because of their poor defense, leading to lots of pass attempts for the young stud.

  35. Mike says:

    Collie over DHB in PPR?

    Collie over Spiller in PPR?

  36. Ed Mundo says:

In a vacuum, would you trade Collie and Wayne away for K. Wright and K. Smith? PPR, have 3 solid RBs and also Britt

  37. Michael Shermer says:

Own Lynch and Mathews. Backup RBs are Benson and Hillis. Would you pick up and start R. Brown and/or Turbin over those backups? One of those RB slots is a flex, and have M. Floyd and Collie who I coul flex in, if you think either of those would be better option.

    • gregsauce says:

We know Mathews won’t play in Week 1, but Lynch’s status is uncertain. Add Turbin if you can and start Lynch/Turbin plus Malcom Floyd.

  38. Matt says:

Is Austin Collie worth an add in a 12 tm PPR? Would drop LaFell.

  39. George says:

Good morning, I have A.Morris (was) should I drop him for Turbin and start him over B.Wells in the flex this week?

    • gregsauce says:

I like Turbin’s chances to start in Week 1 more than Morris, but if Morris winds up being Shanahan’s mystery starter, he’ll have more value if/when Marshawn Lynch is healthy enough to play. With all that said, I wouldn’t start either guy over Beanie Wells.

  40. Train says:

Why so low on Hillis? Reports are saying he and Charles to split carries 50/50. I’m debating between DBrown, Hillis & Kendall Wright for a flex spot. Thanks guys!

  41. Alex in Tulsa says:

Chris Johnson at RB1, I have MJD, Jennings, Reggie Bush & Ridley as options for RB2. Thoughts?

    • gregsauce says:

MJD and Jennings will cut into each other’s workload, so go with Bush.

    • Mike Braude says:

I’d definitely go with Ridley – agreed about the Jaguars running backs eating into each others roles. Bush has a tough matchup with a stout Texans run defense – I believe your best bet is Ridley, he should be in for a nice week.

  42. Tom says:

Jacquizz Rodgers or NYG’s Wilson to start as flex in 20 team ppr this week?

    • gregsauce says:

Seems like a coin-flip. Despite the fact that I have ‘Quizz one spot ahead of Wilson, I’ll go with the staff rankings and recommend the Giants RB.

  43. mark says:

Would you drop Randy Moss for Turbin? I’ve got D. Martin, Wilson, and Ingram as backups

    • gregsauce says:

Hold Moss and drop Ingram for Turbin. It will be hard to forecast what the Saints will do with Ingram, Pierre Thomas, and Chris Ivory on a week-to-week basis.

    • Mike Braude says:

Wait a second, I disagree. Don’t drop Ingram, he’ll have the goal-line carries on a high-powered offense. If you need a RB play this week, yeah I’d drop Moss for Turbin. Moss just doesn’t have much upside, he’s stuck with Smith’s arm on a run-heavy offense. He’ll have a hard time carving out value in fantasy leagues.

  44. hacienda says:

Who do you like as an upside PPR flex this week: Spiller, Collie, Titus, or Jacquizz?

  45. Craig says:

Do you think it is worth starting Witten? I’d have to drop a speculative RB(Jacquizz Rodgers) to get a new TE for this one week.

  46. Chris says:

Without owning their respective starters, which two upside backups would you roster between Jacquizz, Turbin or Dwyer?

  47. Alex says:

Can you indicate if these are for PPR or non PPR?
