Siemian Scraps Sanchez’ Starter Status

Former mediocre Northwestern player Trevor Siemian, will now be at the helm for the reigning champion Denver Broncos as they take the field against Carolina in Week 1. The Mark Sanchez experiment is over, which is a loss to all of us who enjoy seeing glorious butt fumbles. The fact of the matter is that Sanchez simply didn’t offer the marginal benefit necessary to make his few million dollar salary worth it. Instead, he’ll likely be dropped and the Broncos will keep Siemian and rookie Paxton Lynch, who will play the entire preseason game this week against the Cardinals. Frankly, is Siemian any worse than 2015 Peyton Manning? As a Chiefs fan, I want to write the Broncos off, but that defense is so absurdly good, that I’m not sure that I can. As long as he doesn’t make massive mistakes, then the Broncos could surprise.

Stills Slip Scares, Schefter Says Stop Stressing

Miami WR2 Kenny Stills left practice on Monday with what initially appeared to be a leg injury. Later in the day, however, Adam Schefter reported that Stills’ back locked up, and that the injury is not serious. Though details are still missing, Rotoworld surmises that it should not affect his Week 1 status. Stills is currently ranked as the 69th WR in PPR leagues amongst FantasyPros experts.

Bosa Bags Bonus, Begins Ballin’

The Chargers and #3 overall draft pick Joey Bosa have finally come to a contract agreement. Bosa will have less than two weeks with his teammates before the Week 1 game against the Chiefs in Arrowhead. The defensive end out of Ohio State will make a reported $26 over four years. Bosa is not very relevant at the moment in redraft leagues, but could climb a bit with this news. Either way, he’s an excellent pickup if you’re in an IDP dynasty league.

Other Notes

Well, that didn’t last long. James Jones has been released by the Chargers.

Tim Tebow has been offered a contract by a Venezuelan winter league baseball team. Cause, why the hell not?

Brandon Browner has been released by the Seahawks. The former Seattle player had set a personal record with 76 tackles last season with New Orleans.

IDP players take note: Bill O’Brien notes that JJ Watt could play against the Bears in Week 1.

Cardinals WR John Brown is still experiencing headaches. This is obviously concerning, considering his concussion was weeks ago at this point. Hopefully he can be back soon.

Fantasy Equity Scores: The ‘Why Not’ Tight End Candidates

Many tight ends taken in the waning rounds of a fantasy draft will fly off and on the waiver wire as tight end streamers devolve into climbing-on-the-walls tilt, desperate for a streamer, begging any deity to grant them sweet, sweet clarity. That doesn’t mean that this tight end tier should ...

Fantasy Equity Scores: Tight End Floors to Fade, Ceilings to Chase

Mock Draft In Minutes with the Mock Draft Simulator!   I tried for years, in total and complete vain, to crack the tight end code. Breaking down tight end production per target, per snap, per route run, per egg eaten on game day — none of it whispered the sweet secret. It offered ...
