Chet’s 2013 PPR Running Back Rankings July 5, 2013  |  Chet

Good day Mr. and Mrs. The Fake Football and all the ships at sea! To check out all our 2013 Rankings click back over that area I just typed.

Once again we are using the FantasyPros ranker which is a cool tool and you should check out their site. I have to say it’s one of my favorites. The guys over at 4for4 averaged out the last three seasons of accuracy results and I finished fifth, which makes me happy that I’m not always just blindly throwing crap against the wall to see what sticks.

Running backs are my favorite position to hoard and with only 10-15 that I really would feel good about as my top 2 backs, there’s a good chance I’ll be grabbing them in rounds one and two this season. But in 1 point PPR things get a little more fluid. Calvin Johnson is too good to pass up if it falls into the second half of the first round. You’ll also see here that JC Superstar tops my running back list instead of All Day. That’s what my projections bore out and I like it. Peterson is still my #1 back in Standard leagues, but Andy Reid brings a whole new JCentric offense that I am going to pilfer for fantasy points.

I’m in quite a pickle here I feel. Ppr league. Muscle Hamster was my first. Who’d you take. Sproles or MJD?

Is there a way I can print this????

Cool, thanks for the reply. July prognosticating is always difficult, I know. Training camps start up in just a couple weeks though! That will start to clear up some of the summer “mysteries”.

Re: Lamar Miller, if the chips were down, do you really see yourself taking him as the 15th overall RB? That would slot him in the late 2nd/early 3rd at least. I’m somewhat enamored, but the unknown on him seems to outweigh the potential, at least for now. Care to add any more thoughts on Miller? I assume you feel the Dolphins will take a leap forward this season?

He’s risky to be sue, just feel his upside outweighs the risk to a degree. I like him in PPR more than standard, but am taking him over most of the guys I feel don’t have high ceilings.

Nice rankings Chet. I like that you’re all-in on Vereen. Have a feeling by the end of next month, most “expert” rankings will probably have him pushed that high, and with good reason in PPR if all this talk about him lining up at WR is true. I guess getting him as a RB3 in the 5th round probably isn’t going to happen in August, huh?
