Top Play

Ben Roethlisberger- Pittsburgh Steelers- $7000

What’s more to like than a matchup against the 32nd ranked pass defense and being red hot coming off a 3 TD performance? Big Ben is priced right in the middle pack of quarterbacks and he is the only one I see priced in that range that has top 5 potential. The Steelers proved last week that they aren’t capable of blowing out inferior teams and Bortles should be able to keep Jacksonville competitive. Heath Miller showed some life, Antonio Brown looks like the best receiver in football, and Bell is a complete weapon out of the backfield. Love Big Ben this week.

Top Value Play

Tony Romo- Dallas Cowboys- $5200

Romo looks like a complete different QB than he did Week 1 and he looks healthier on the field as well. It is no secret opposing defenses will start loading up against the run, which leaves a lot of 1-1 matchups on the perimeter for Romo to take advantage of. His 350 yard passing days may be over, but he has multi-touchdown potential is greater than ever as he has 5 TD’s over his past two games. Houston is middle of the pack against the pass and I don’t see their secondary being able to matchup with Dez Bryant and Terrance Williams.

Running Backs

Top Play

Rashad Jennings- New York Giants- $6900

The opposing Atlanta Falcons have been horrible against the run this year allowing 153.5 rushing yards per game and a league high 9 rushing touchdowns allowed. Jennings is well rested after playing on Thursday night last week and getting the 4th Quarter off stemming from a blowout. Jennings has been better at home in 2014 as well as he has averaged 20.3 FPPG at home compared to 12.9 FPPG on the road. He is my No.1 RB play this week!

Top Value Play

Zac Stacy- St. Louis Rams- $3900

Stacy is coming off a bye and gets to face an Eagles run defense ranked 20th against RB’s. The lesser talented Frank Gore last week posted over 150 total yards and Stacy could easily surpass 100 total yards at a heavily discounted salary. The Rams know the only chance they have to win this game is to keep the Eagles offense off the field and a successful ground and pound strategy is exactly how they can win.

Wide Receivers

Top Play

Dez Bryant- Dallas Cowboys- $7000

The main reason I like Dez the best this week is because he is $2000 less than Julio Jones and $1000 less than an injured Calvin Johnson. He may not be seeing the amount of targets we all expected, but he is becoming more efficient against 1-1 coverage. You should be looking for consistent players in 50/50 tournaments and he has scored in three straight games. With an extra safety in the box, I like Dez to break a long one this week.

Top Value Play

Rueben Randle- New York Giants- $4100

His stat line last week of 8 receptions for 89 yards isn’t bad at all, but consider that he was inches and one foot away from scoring two touchdowns! The Giants offense gets a dream matchup at home against Atlanta allowing 276.3 passing yards per game. Randle is due to find the red zone and teams are now aware how much of a threat Donnell is in the red zone. This is Randle’s week to shine.

Tight Ends

Top Play

Julius Thomas- Denver Broncos- $5900

There is no secret about how bad the Cardinals are against Tight Ends and they rank 23rd against the position this year. The Broncos are a better offense at home and Thomas is averaging 26.2 FPPG in 2 home games this year. Thomas will benefit from the attention Demariyus Thomas will be getting from Patrick Peterson. His near lock for 80 yards and a touchdown is gravy for a mid-range salary.

Top Value Play

Greg Olsen- Carolina Panthers- $4400

Olsen has been a top 5 TE this year yet he is still heavily discounted on Draftster. Olsen gets a revenge game versus his former employer the Chicago Bears. Olsen at home this year has averaged a very solid 70.5 YPG. He is the 14th highest priced TE this week…..easy $$$$.

Team Defenses

Top Plays

Detroit Lions- $3400

Whether it is Manuel or Orton, neither QB is an elite option against a well improved Detroit defense. The Bills want to be a running team and Detroit counters with a top 10 rushing defense. The Lions have averaged 11.5 FPPG at home compared to only 5.5 FPPG on the road. The Lions are my number 1 defense play this week.

New Orleans Saints- $3400

Mike Glennon has been better than McCown so far this year, but he has been turnover prone in his young NFL career. Tampa Bay is on a high right now after an upset at Pittsburgh last week and the Saints are extremely mad after a blowout loss to Dallas. Defensive coordinator Rob Ryan called himself out last week and I expect him to have his defense psyched and ready to go. The Saints are a different beast at home and the Bucs offensive line has looked shaky so far. If Detroit’s defense scares you, play the Saints with confidence at the same cost.
