2013 Week 6 NFL Picks October 12, 2013  |  Neil Parker

Our 2013 Week 6 NFL Picks are all set and this week, I thought why not invite some of you to join in the action. So I’ve added picks that were sent to me on Twitter too.

One of the best aspects of all 4 of the Fake sites is that we’re approachable and interactive. So, in the future, send me your NFL Picks and I’ll get them into this article.

Again, as always Jon Collins and Adam Cook are back with their weekly contributions and Jason Willan is back with his Survivor Picks too. He almost fell for a dolphin and ran away with her, but he knew he could let his loyal Fake Football fans down.

Time to roll out the 2013 Week 6 NFL Picks folks, enjoy and please, zap me on Twitter so I can include yours next week.

2013 Week 6 NFL Picks

Neil’s Three and Out

Cincinnati Bengals at Buffalo Bills

The Bengals haven’t won on the road yet, but that will end this week. The only real question is if their talented offense can finally execute on the field and post points on the scoreboard.

The Bills are running out Thad Lewis at Quarterback against the Bengals team that just held Tom Brady down. Yes, the game was in Cincy and the weather was unfavorable, but surely the underachieving Bengals can make life overly difficult for Lewis.

The Bengals will have to hold the Bills’ running game in check, but after that, I expect their defense to give Andy Dalton prime opportunities to kick his slump. They may even score themselves.

Look for an A.J. “Don’t you, forget about me” Green coming out party on Sunday. Cats by at least 8.

Philadelphia Eagles at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay has some play-makers and a young Quarterback with a big arm, they also haven’t won and are coming off a bye week. Doug Martin should fest on the Eagles’ weak run defense and Mike Glennon should find Vincent Jackson and Mike Williams frequently through the air.

The Eagles’ strength is their up-tempo offense, which shouldn’t be hindered by Nick Foles starting behind center for the injured Mike Vick. LeSean McCoy is as good as they come out of the backfield, so a strong Bucs defense will be tested.

This is a true toss up. If the Eagles’ defense can stop Doug Martin and pressure the rookie QB Glennon, they have a shot. Unfortunately, the Bucs are fresh and focused after their bye week and should be able to slow down the Eagles enough to sneak out the win.

The Bucs defense and Mike “Master of Puppets” Glennon should pull it out.

Indianapolis Colts at San Diego Chargers

It is difficult to go against Andrew Luck right now and even harder when he is facing the league’s 25th ranked pass defense. What is more impressive is that the Colts  also boast a top rushing attack, averaging 142 yards per contest.

I was wrong about Philip Rivers, he has turned back the clock and that shot put arm into a nice season, but can it last? The offense should be able to make this somewhat of a shootout, but can the Bolts’ defense make it a competitive shootout?

This has the appearance of a trap game, with Denver and a trip to Houston on tap for the Colts, but Chuck Pagano will have this team ready. They don’t have to be dominant to cover the low spread either, so jump on this line before it exceeds 4 points.

It is time for a statement game from Trent “Walk this way” Richardson, Colts by 4.

Adam’s ‘Real’ ‘Fake’ Football Predictions – LTU Style

Lock of the Week : Seattle Seahawks over Tennessee Titans

Picking the Broncos over the Jaguars would just be way too easy. Seattle should be a favorite no matter who they are playing when they are at home. Not to mention that the Titans are rolling out the all so mighty Ryan Fitzpatrick. The Titans stand no chance unless Chris Johnson breaks off a couple long runs and that is very unlikely as he is only averaging around 3.0 yards per carry. My condolences Tennessee. Seahawks 34, Titans 13

Toss Up of the Week: Green Bay Packers at Baltimore Ravens

The Packers seem to be the more talented team, but the Ravens seem to kick it up another gear when they are at home. Rodgers and Joe Fluke-O could be in for a shootout on Sunday and in shootouts it usually comes down to the last possession. My pick in this game revolves around Terrell Suggs vs. Clay Matthews. With Matthews being injured I almost have to go with the Ravens to win. Ravens 27, Packers 24.

Upset of the Week: Jacksonville Jaguars over Denver Broncos

JK, JK, JK……

Pittsburgh Steelers over New York Jets

Ok Pittsburgh, if you won’t be able to win this week then it may be awhile. I think the keys to the upset have everything to do with Mike Tomlin eliminating games in the locker room and the Steelers being well rested off a bye week. Rex Ryan was puffing his chest a little too far Monday night after a victory over the beaten down Atlanta Falcons. I am expecting a letdown. Steelers 24, Jets 14.

Jon’s Set the Spread

It feels odd picking a healthy 7 point spread and calling it a cautious approach, but that’s what we’re looking at here. In Week 6 the Cardinals travel to San Francisco to take on the 49ers, who are fresh off a trouncing of the much-better-than-‘Zona Houston Texans.

The signs all point to a 49ers win, more than anything the fact that Carson Palmer who has thrown a pick in every game this season (including 3 his last time out) enters the contest with an ailing Larry Fitzgerald who may not even make it onto the field. Sure, the Cardinals are as good as 3-3 after this game but their defense is playing strong and the 49ers gameplan isn’t set up to overwhelm anyone.

Vegas sets the number in excess of 10, but cooler heads will take the healthy 7 point spread, enjoy the win and not sweat over what could wind up as a closer than expected division game.
