Week 2 Fantasy Football Rankings September 11, 2014  |  Jeff

We have turned the page on Week 1 of the fake football season and Week 2 promises to be more gentle. Well, hopefully that is the case. There are plenty of Dez Bryant and Jamaal Charles fantasy points out there that need to be claimed and Week 2 sounds like a perfect time to collect. We now have more injuries to factor in to our weekly rankings, so keep an eye on these ranks below for updates throughout the week/weekend. As always, please feel free to leave any questions in the comments section below!

My qbs are Cutler and Palmer ,With the news of Palmer being 50/50 and with Cutler possibly without Jeffrey/ Marshall .Should I pick up Locker ?Only problem is that I would have to cut one of the following to make the roster move.I just picked up Asiata because I’m thin at rb.Rest of my rbs are T-Rich, Mcfadden ,Deangelo Williams ,Pierre ThomaJoique Bell .Should I cut Asiata and pick up Locker ?Then pick up Mckinnon next week?

  7. Steve C says:

Sorry had couple more advice needed . got Wallace in as PPR WR 2 . But any reason b/c of matchup to think of starting Justin Hunter?
THEN J.Gordon dilemma .. 12 team PPR Not sure about hanging till week 12 fi there’s sill a chance he gets more tacked on from the DUI . Not much on WW but to add RB depth is it worth dropping him for A Bradshaw , If T.Rich falls flat can AB have good value? (I actually dropped AB for Josh). or L . Miller is available My RBs are McCoy, Gio, Vereen and FJax? .. Or What DO U do with Gordon. Just honestly don;t know if he’ll be there when week 12 does get here? What’s the Fake Footballs opinion with Gordon? thanx

    • Jeff says:

I would play Allen probably this week at TE. Seems safer.

Wallace looks good as your WR2.

I’d keep Gordon. You should be set with those 4 RB, as they are all fine options. Having Gordon for the playoffs would be big.

  8. Steve C says:

With Cameron doubtful in PPR I have Kelce to fill In ..But Now saw Dwayne Allen Available…like upside of both I wee the rankings are close ..So wuld love to hear your opinion .. I have and 8:00 Tee Time So I can check and make the swap if u think it’s good move . I figure KC will have to throw a lot but Allen seem to be in sync with Luck .. Thanx for your advice :))))

  9. Cow says:

Hey, Jeff/Chet. I Crowell, D Freeman, R Randle, A Dobson and B Quick all are on WW. Should I drop J. Boykin to pick someone up? Thx in advance.

  10. Philz says:

Pick 2, non PPR: asiata, mike Wallace, Chris Johnson.
    Thanks.

  11. Andy says:

PPR Flex question, need 1: Terrance West, Sproles, Joique Bell, Dwayne Bowe, or Sammy Watkins?

  12. Randy says:

Who would you rather own in a 10-team non-PPR league: Gordon, Hunter, Wayne, or Steve Smith? Also, Trent Richardson, Bradshaw, Jeremy Hill, or, Asiata. Thanks!

  13. Tom says:

PPR Zac Stacy or Shonne Green?

Also, since i’m strong at WR I’m looking to trade a WR for Alfred Morris. Who would you offer for Morris? My WRs are Dez Bryant, Julio Jones, Pierre Garcon, Markus Wheaton, Kelvin Benjamin
    Thanks

  14. Footballtime says:

    Matt asiata or Doug Martin?

  15. Nick says:

Pick 2 of 3 RBs this week please, all with tough matchups against the run:

    Stacy vs TB
    Mathews vs Sea
J.Stewart vs Det (DeAngelo Wiliams presumably out).

    Thanks!

  16. Steven says:

Got a trade offer give MJD receive shonn greene

  17. football says:

Flex decisions in 2 different leagues (each half pt ppr)

    -joique bell or kendall wright?

-kyle rudolph or deandre hopkins or greg jennings?

    Thank you!

    • Jeff says:

I like Wright in the first one. Tough matchup for Bell.

Then I would play Hopkins or Jennings of the next batch. I’d lean Hopkins probably.

  18. Jim says:

    Got offered a trade;

Trade Demaryius Thomas to receive Jamaal Charles straight up…

Other WRs on my team: Garcon, Patterson, Wallace, Randle, Baldwin, Gordon stashed

My RBs now: Gerhart, Gio, Helu, Freeman

Let me know what you think!

    • Jeff says:

I would take that deal. Two weeks ago you would have drafted JC ahead of DT so I would go for it. Especially with Gordon on his way back at some point this year.

  19. iddqd says:

hurns 66th? seriously??? he put up 39 pts through like 6 quarters this preseason, that’s jamaal charles type of ppg average in ppr leagues, he basically screamed his worth during preseason for anyone wise enough to grab him. i’d be the last person to ever vouch for a rookie wr (aside from cooks this season), but he doesn’t fit the typical statistical stereotype because of his background with Jedd Fisch. he’s practically a veteran on a squad of rookie wrs.

anyway, ppr league, rb2 and a r/w/t flex slots are open, which two do you go with moreno, pierre thomas, cameron, and hurns. or rather, which do you choose as an rb2, moreno or pierre thomas? lol.

i know what all the pundits are saying about hurns but i really think they’re wrong on this one. he just doesn’t fit the typical stereotype and he’s done everything anyone could ever ask for. what more could he possibly to do make people believers, averaged 26 ppg the rest of the season? if he only averaged 16 he’d still likely fall in the top 25 at the position.

    • Jeff says:

I don’t think you’re necessarily wrong about Hurns’ ability here, but the impending return of Cecil Shorts is what the concern is. If Shorts indeed sits again in Week 2, then Hurns will be moved up accordingly, and Hurns could have another nice week, sure.

I would play Moreno and Thomas in your RB2 and Flex spots.

  20. PhilB says:

I was verbally offered either Brady or Cutler for benny cunningham.

I only have Geno Smith at QB and Vereen, Lacy, Ivory, Deangelo williams and Taliaferro at RB. Need a QB more than cunningham. I also have Brandon Marshall so that Cutler Marshall tandem would be nice.

Who do you like better ROS?
    Thanks.

  21. Norman says:

12 Team PPR, we start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 WR/RB/TE. Would you try to set up a trade?
    My Team: Luck, Edelman, Wayne . D Murray, Stacy , J Graham , K Allen , F Jackson, Kelce, Sproles , T Austin, Dunbar , S Smith Jr.
With Deangelo Williams questionable, would you drop T Austin for JStew & possibly start JStew over Stacy?
    Also, 12 Team PPR, we start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 Flex (wr/rb/te). R Wilson , Dez, Roddy, R Mathews , D Martin , J Cameron , R Wayne , D Hopkins , R Randle , J Hill , B Sankey , G Jennings , B Rainey , L Donnell.
Would you pick up JStew for this team, if so, who would you drop?

    • iddqd says:

s smith jr or sr? i’d definitely keep luck edelman wayne murray, graham, allen, fjax,, sproles, smith and murrays cuff. you want a fourth stud bench wr and it’s probably a really good idea to keep sproles at rb2. i would’ve never grabbed stacy in the first place in a ppr league.

Deangelo’s injury as of now isn’t serious enough to warrant grabbing stewart to play against detroits run defense and he likely isn’t good enough to start on your team anyway. the top rookie rbs last year did pretty well and you’ve got two of the best from this years class. you’ll probably want to hang on to them.

  22. Steve C says:

Oh and to add Mystery to the T.Smith Debate is the Rice situation more of a Distraction or with their RB situation in disarray Will they HAVE to Rely on Torrey/ Damn I’ve been flip-Flopping Torrey and Wallace all week LOL HA! thx

    • Jeff says:

I would still roll with Wallace. I like Smith plenty and agree with you that he will blow up soon but I think Wallace is the best bet.

  23. Steve C says:

Oh Crap shoot .. PPR forgot Ravens play tonite .. So WR 2 Wallace or Torrey Smith? I know and agree w/Wallace higher in Ranks But I’m Waiting For Torrrey to have one of his “Blow UP” Games… Is tonight the night or so I keep Patience till I Actually See Flacco’s Quote “Torrey will have 100 receptions”? Thanx for the advice!

    • iddqd says:

you can’t start them both? steve smith and Pitta both had 15 targets to Torrey’s 7. Torrey hasn’t had more than 70 receptions in a season in his life and 15 targets a piece to steve smith and pitta isn’t going to help the 137 he had last year. Wallace had 140 but Tannehill still has no one else to throw to.

  24. ZJG says:

    Love this!

i have 2 spots in PPR for: Keenan, Cruz, Torrey Smith, and Allen Hurns. Cruz and Allen have terrible matchups, so i am completely torn here and thinking Smith and someone else is the play. Help me Obi Won
