Week 15 Ranksauce December 12, 2012  |  gregsauce

I’d like to thank Rashard Mendenhall and Brandon Jacobs for getting themselves suspended for conduct detrimental to their respective teams. They really cleared up the running back hierarchies in Pittsburgh and San Francisco for rankers like me. Mendy and Jacobs’ collective gesture of missing a paycheck to make our jobs easier shows that they really care about the fantasy football community. Stand-up move, guys! Here are my Week 15 ranks:

Bryce Killed me Thur. .Need High Ceiling-PPR Sproles or can Mathews Finally deliver at home w/o Ronnie taking his snaps? THX

  2. Norman says:

Succop vs. KC, Hanson vs. AZ, Dawson vs. Was, Bailey vs. Pit, Lindell vs. Sea or Carpenter vs. Jac?
    Thanks!

  3. will says:

For a flex this week, start Cecil Shorts, Torrey Smith, Vernon Davis or Alex Green?

  4. Marc says:

Ranksauce always appreciated! As an off and on Rudolph owner, can I ask why you are higher on him than your comrades, over a guy like Olsen?

  5. jeff says:

Playing the guy who called out that he was taking me down at the draft so I want to crush him. What do you think is my optimal lineup? Currently starting:

    QB: Brady
    WR: Alexander
    WR: Austin
    WR: Blackmon
    RB: Martin
    RB: Charles
    TE: Scheffler
    RB: Spiller
    K: Bryant
    DST: Detroit

Bench is: Maclin, Britt, Fitzgerald, Chris Johnson, Vernon Davis, Bears DST.

You think I have the best lineup in or do I gamble with one of Maclin or Britt over Blackmon and risk fantasy suicide with Davis at TE and the Bears against Rodgers?

Thanks a lot for the help all season, can’t say I would be in 3 playoffs without you guys here!

    • gregsauce says:

I like Britt more than Blackmon this week and Davis more than Scheffler. The Patriots tend to give up a lot of fantasy points to tight ends.

  6. Dumpy says:

Need to start 3 of these guys in a PPR: Moreno, Bryce Brown, Reggie Wayne, Roddy White. Who would you go with?

  7. Elliot says:

I have D. Martin, Alf, Ridley, and D. Wilson. Is Ridley’s matchup with SF that tough that I should play Wilson if Bradshaw is out? Or do my other backs assure me of enough points that I can play it safe and go Ridley?

  8. Norman says:

I have Dez in both of my 12 team & 10 team PPR leagues. It sounds like he is going to play, but how effective will he actually be……12 Team: Would you start Dez over Garcon & DX, Right now I have Cruz & Garcon in at WRs & DX as my flex. 10 Team: Would you start Dez over Cruz, Wayne, Marshall & VJax? I currently have Cruz, Wayne & Marshall in at WRs & VJax as my flex.
    Thanks!

    • gregsauce says:

12-Team: If RGIII plays, I would use Garcon and Alexander ahead of Dez. If RGIII sits, I’d use DX and Dez.

10-Team: I wouldn’t start Dez over any of those guys. Cruz, Jackson, and Marshall are all top-5 options this week and Wayne is much safer than Dez.

  9. Herschel says:

    Two questions:

QB – Kaepernick, Romo or Big Ben

PPR Flex – Bryce Brown tomorrow night or wait until Sunday for either Dez or Decker

    Thanks!

  10. Glenn says:

Standard League, need 1 RB and 3 WR

Wilson, B. Brown, DX, J. Gordon, Decker, Dez, Garçon

  11. Max says:

Although, I can just play Bryce and wait on the other two since your sold on him either way. Thanks. I was thinking Colston was a lock vs TB…

  12. Max says:

Hook me up with the sauce Greg, Please choose two from this group – Bryce Brown, Colston, and David Wilson.

    Thanks!

    • gregsauce says:

It all depends on Ahmad Bradshaw. If he plays, I’d use Brown and Colston. If he sits, I’d use Wilson and Brown. I have Wilson ranked assuming Bradshaw will be out.

      • Max says:

Thanks. As you know, the problem is Bryce goes tomorrow night. Damn these Thursday night games. Unless Coughlin makes the decision before tomorrow’s kickoff (which I doubt).

      • gregsauce says:

Max, you can start Brown tonight and then wait until Sunday to decide between Colston and Wilson… or do your lineups lock at the beginning of the Thursday game? If so, I would just play it safe and use Colston.

Tight End Streaming: Trusting Your Eyes

It’s best sometimes to remove your head from the numerical quicksand that so slyly sucks you down that statistical rabbit hole, where so many fantasy football teams go to die. I’ve become borderline obsessed with the concept of streaming tight ends in 2013, just as we base our team defenses entirely ...
