Week 12 NFL Picks
November 24, 2012 | Neil Parker
Week 12 started slowly with the Texans only winning by a field goal and the Cowboys falling asleep – again – in the 2nd quarter. Season record stands at 23-16. Going to throw out a few more NFL picks this week in rapid fire again.
Pittsburgh Steelers at Cleveland Browns
The Steelers are now down to Charlie Batch at QB and the Browns just keep playing teams tough. I’m going with a Trent Richardson, Brandon Weeden breakthrough game at home and the Browns sneaking out their third win of the season. The Steelers have stalled on offense against two of the worst defenses in the league the past two weeks, and they’re banged up on both sides of the ball. This is going to be a low scoring game, and I like the team with the healthy man behind center and superior running back.
Browns straight up over their division rival.
Seattle Seahawks at Miami Dolphins
Fresh off their bye week, the Seahawks look to steal their 2nd road win of the season in Miami. Meanwhile, the Dolphins have lost 3 straight after looking like they could challenge for a playoff spot early on in the season. The Dolphins aren’t averaging two TDs a game in their past 4, and they haven’t faced a top tier defense like the Seahawks either. Russell Wilson has shown he can win football games, and the Dolphins early season success was nothing more than a facade.
Seahawks take this by at least a field goal.
Denver Broncos at Kansas City Chiefs & Oakland Raiders at Cincinnati Bengals
These two games have the biggest spreads of the week, and both favorites are going to take home the victories. Peyton Manning is dialed in, and the Broncos defense looks to be getting better by the game, meanwhile the Chiefs are the worst team in football. Likewise, Carson Palmer’s return to Cincinnati isn’t going to be enough for the Raiders to win this football game. The Bengals have a winning streak going and the Raiders are giving up an average of 45 points a game over their last three. The Broncos are going to blow out the Chiefs, but there is potential that the Raiders could hang around in this game.
Broncos by the 2 score spread of 10 and playing it safe with the Bengals by 6.
Baltimore Ravens at San Diego Chargers
The Chargers have dropped 5 of 6, while the Ravens – despite their injury woes – are sitting at 8-2. However, the Ravens have to travel across the country and face a desperate Chargers team that can put up points and need a win. Joe Flacco hasn’t exactly been ‘elite’ on the road, and the Ravens D hasn’t been good anywhere all season giving up yards in chunks. Ryan Mathews has been a non factor all season and is due for a big game.
As long as Rivers can take care of the football, the Chargers will win straight up.
The Packers are too banged up to beat a rested and motivated Giants club off their bye – Giants straight up.
The Card’s QB is worse than C. Batch, they might hang around for a bit, but the Rams will win – take the points if you can.
The Panthers are bad, but they’re not Eagles bad, and have lost some heartbreakers this season – Carolina by a FG.
