Week 11 Ranksauce November 14, 2012  |  gregsauce

Bye weeks are pretty annoying for most fake footballers, but in a week like this with 12.5% of NFL teams on bye, my player-ranking task is 12.5% easier. With that said, I bid a fond farewell to bye weeks. In the words of the greased-up deaf guy, “See y’all next year.” Here are my ranks for Week 11:

Fighting for p/o life w/all injured team PPR League & lost Ben. Need a QB from Kaepernick, Locker,Henne or Cutler if he plays.(Tried Foles last week but wat a disaster w/Eagles Lost by 4.8 pts. Now I have a mess with the rest. I have Rice and Mathews for RB.. But Need 2 WR & Flex. I have Julio, Mike Wms, Denario, and Blackmon (or would u drop him for Britt) so I’m hoping Julio Plays and have Denario as WR2 .. But flex is a choice of Felix, Sroles if he plays or Bryce Brown? Or one of the above leftover WR? I played my regular starters in week 1 and have been patching lineups since. Hernandez is my TE and got ONE game from him Grrrr!! thanx for ur advice as always Greg

  2. Jermichael says:

14 Team PPR: Staff, Mega, Crabtree, Alexander, Britt, Garcon, Martin, Charles, Andre Brown, Beanie, Bennett, Chandler, Janikowski, SF D. Players only go on waivers when they are dropped, so it’s slim pickens. I’m looking to drop Chandler (bye week fill in) for most likely a wr. Here is who’s available: S Moss, LaFell, Stokley, Celek, Woodhead, Avery, Hawkins, Battle, Jacquizz, Starks……Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

  3. Steve C says:

HELP Devastated w/Injuries . AHern Out (have 2 play Celek) and have Foles in
for Ben.. NOW I gotta figure out a PPR RB, WR and Flex (I’m starting
Ray Rice & Julio if he’s a go??) but leaves me Mathews, Felix, Sproles…Mike
Williams and Titus. My other reserves are Andre Brown & Antonio Brown,Who I’m hoping to hold on to ..(WW
has Denario, Ivory and Ingram). BUT with all the Question marks on Julio and
Mathews Sproles..how would YOU set the lineup? Right now I have Rice and Felix
at RB as they’re healthy after that I appreciate ANY input ..THANX!!
(also Ronnie Brown and Battle are there if they make a good fill in if
    Mathews can’t go)

    • gregsauce says:

Apologies for not getting to this before game time. You set your lineup the way I would have suggested, though — Felix Jones at RB2 and Mike Williams at WR2.

  4. Abe says:

Would you trade TRich in return for S. Ridley plus any one (1) of these WRs: VJax, Colston or Amendola? If so, pls rank which WR to ask for.

    Thanks.

    • gregsauce says:

Depends on who you would drop and what the rest of your team looks like. In a vacuum, it’s a good deal for Ridley/Colston or Ridley/Jackson (I’d rank them in the order you listed them). I wouldn’t do it for Amendola if those other wideouts are on the table.

  5. Jermichael says:

14 Team PPR: Would you trade Decker for Charles? Here is my team, our trade deadline is today. Staff, Mega, Decker, Crabtree, Alexander, Britt, Martin, Ivory, A Brown, Beanie, Bennett, Chandler (bye week fill in, dropping him asap), Janikowski, SF D.
    Thanks!

    • gregsauce says:

I’d make that deal. Charles has a nice schedule down the stretch and your team could use another RB to start alongside Martin every week. Giving up Decker kind of hurts, but between Crabtree, DX, Britt, and the waiver wire, you should be able to play match-ups at WR the rest of the way.

  6. freddy says:

Hey, I’m a little desperate at my QB situation: Got Rivers and Locker stashed. I could get Freeman if I offer Lloyd … is it worth the trade?

    • Phil says:

Hey Greg, If Matthews cant go, Battle or Brown better play?
Or…should I forget Battle/Brown, move BJGE from Flex
to RB2, and use Ballard or T.Young in the Flex? Standard scoring. Thanks!

    • gregsauce says:

Depends on if you can afford to lose a wide receiver, but that seems like fair value at this point. Still, I would be tempted to just roll with Rivers from here on out. He’s been been trending up over the last could weeks, while Freeman has been trending down.

      • gregsauce says:

Of the SD RBs, I’d rather have Battle than Brown if Mathews sits, but in your case, I’d use BJGE and Titus Young.

  7. y4rivera says:

Should I consider trading my Forte for Mathews. It’s in that keeper league I’ve asked you about before. Mathews would only be $11 next year where Forte is $33. I like the value in Mathews for next year but I don’t want to hurt my team this year. I looked at the schedules and Mathews has a better one. Forte actually has what I think is a tough one. Should I do the deal?

  8. Tom says:

sorry about posting the same question in mulitple articles, didnt realize that!

    ROS: Gresham or Miller

    thanks!

  9. Tom says:

    standard PPR league:

ROS: D alexander or S Rice?

ROS: Andre Brown or Daniel Thomas?

  10. Ghost says:

yeah i tried the bryant route and llyod route he told me i was crazy guess im not so crazy! no other teams really can afford to trade any RB’s…sigh ill just have to wait it out, thanks man

  11. Ghost says:

Team is 5-5 sitting on the cusp of the playoffs been hit a little hard at RB with injuries current team:
    QB- Romo
WR – Fitz, Bryant, Cobb, Lloyd
RB – DMC, F-Jax, Jennings, Reece, Wells
    TE – Miller

Matthews owner needs a WR and wants to trade him…he tried to pull cobb from me for matthews (LOL) but eventually settled on Fitz for Matthews…I can afford to trade fitz and his schedule is pretty brutal down the stretch run but I dont feel very confident in Matthews…pull the trigger?

    • Ghost says:

forgot to mention full PPR league

    • gregsauce says:

Larry Fitzgerald would be worth more to me than Ryan Mathews. Mathews for Bryant or Mathews for Lloyd seems more reasonable to me. Perhaps shop your wideouts around to some of the other owners in your league?

  12. AdamH says:

Team is in 5th place at 6-4. Been hit by some injuries to McFadden and Antonio Brown. Team is as follows:
    QB Romo
    WR Cruz (Bye)
    WR Wayne
    WR Hilton
    RB Spiller
    RB Martin
    TE Daniels
    Flex LRH
    B Brown
    B McFadden
    B K Hunter
    B Mendenhall

Ive got a gaping hole at WR this week (the highest rated guy I see is Justin Blackmon) and wins are critical now. Ive been offered Andre Roberts for Mendenhall. Good move or wait out Mendy or see if I can get more?

    • gregsauce says:

I like Andre Roberts and that’s a decent deal if you can’t find anything better. Check the waiver wire for Danario Alexander, Donald Jones, or Brandon LaFell before pulling the trigger on a trade, though.

      • AdamH says:

Its a 14 team league. All those guys are long gone. According to Week 11 staff rankings, best available are Devery Henderson, Justin Blackmon, Kevin Walter, Josh Morgan… Pick one of these guys up instead?

    • AdamH says:

Got offered Boldin for Mendy as well. Who’s the better ROS play, Boldin or Roberts? Looks close based on your rankings.

    • gregsauce says:

      I’d rather have Roberts.

  13. Billy says:

With sproles back at practice do I start Vick Ballard over ivory? Last week was a pretty even split with brown. Or do I take ivory with the easier matchup. Also have quizz. Thanks

  14. Got to thing Baltimore defense will go up in ranking with Big Ben out.

    • gregsauce says:

Nope, I’d rather have all the teams I list above them in the ranks. The Ravens are no longer an elite fantasy defense.

  15. El Guey says:

Start torrey or danario? also, Morris or Reece? non ppr

    Thanks!!

  16. Chris says:

Tynes is on bye and currently leading our league in points at his position. Do I drop him for Janikowski or Tucker, or drop either Jermichael Finley or Donald Brown? I am good at RB, so Brown will never play for me and my other TE’s are Keller and Olsen. Thanks!

    • gregsauce says:

I usually advocate dropping a kicker to add a kicker, even the top-scoring one. On the other hand, I don’t really see the point in carrying three tight ends, either, so I’d drop Finley.

  17. gerb says:

Full PPR. Current starting RBs are JC and R. Bush. Worth trading A. Hernandez for A. Morris, if it means rolling with G. Olsen rest of the way?

  18. grix says:

Wow…Cobb #4? I love it, but what is it that you like so much about this matchup that makes him such a better play over Nelson?

  19. y4rivera says:

Follow up to the keeper trade questions I asked you in the wire post. The owner made another offer of Rodgers and Graham for Cruz. Cruz is excellent value at $11 but I would still be able to keep Cam $6, Julio $14, Percy $18, and Martin $20. At TE I currently have Celek.

  20. Jermichael says:

10 Team PPR: Thoughts on Brandon Marshal ROS, with Cutler out this week & already having a handful of concussion throughout his career, is Marshall worth a trade? Our trade deadline is the 23rd, here is my team: Luck, Eli, Marshall, Wayne, Cruz, Dez, Amendola, Rice, AP, DMC, Thomas, Beanie, Gates, Vernon, Hou.

  21. B.J. says:

ROS: NAte Washinton or Danario Alexander? 12 team nonPPR

  22. mt says:

Offered Charles and Roddy White for my AP…worth it? Thanks…have morris, spiller, dmc at rb
