Fake footballers, I’m going to level with you. Week 1 is a bit of a crap-shoot. We have two frames of reference in which to evaluate fantasy players for the opening week. The first is the preseason, where NFL coaches try not to give away too much about their true game plan while barely playing their starters. The second is last season, which would be extremely useful if all the players and coaches were still with the same teams as last year. Alas, we play the hand we’re dealt. As the season plays out, we will develop more context in which to appraise our fantasy assets. Until then, here are my Week 1 rankings:
