To prepare everyone for their upcoming drafts, I have complied some of my favorite fantasy football information that is floating around the internet today. With no further ado, here are some great fantasy football links:
Now for today’s real football news:
- DeMarco Murray: Cowboys’ beat writer Matt Mosley called Murray “fully healed and has been the most impressive offensive player to watch in training camp.” After drawing glowing reviews across the board, it appears the only concern about Murray is the Cowboys’ interior offensive line. (More here)
- Stevan Ridley: After looking like the shoo-in to replace Green-Ellis, Stevan Ridley has taken a step back. ESPN Boston’s Mike Reiss believes Shane Vereen “has closed the gap” – it also doesn’t help that Ridley injured his right left in practice, luckily it doesn’t appear to be serious. (More here and here)
- Tim Hightower: Hightower participated in the Redskins’ 11-on-11 portion of practice today. Shanahan is hoping he can return for the Redskins 3rd preseason game. (More here)
- Titus Young: I know you’ve already heard enough about Young to know he’s a huge sleeper, but here’s your daily reminder. Sports Illustrated’s Peter King believes “Titus Young continues to look like he’s on the verge of a huge season.” Coach Schwartz said of Young, “He’s an important part of our plans.” With the Lions pass-happy offense and Megatron to keep defenses honest, what’s there not to love? (More here)
- Scott Chandler: Bills beat writer Joe Buscaglia had this to say: “Scott Chandler has also been a strong contributor to camp on a daily basis. Easy catches, tough catches in traffic — it doesn’t matter. Chandler has roped everything in and become one of Ryan Fitzpatrick’s favorite two targets. He looks primed to have a better season than his last one.” (More here)
- Kyle Rudolph: As if he hasn’t gotten enough love this preseason, Vikings beat writers had this to say: “Christian Ponder looks for Kyle Rudolph a lot. Rudolph has big hands, long arms and added confidence. Don’t be surprised if he leads the team in targets this season.” Let’s just say he’s already on four of my five fantasy teams. (More here)
- Atlanta Falcons Offense: It was reported today that one of the major changes new offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter has made, is the “implementation of the three-wide receiver set or “11” personnel – one back and one tight end – as a primary formation.” This is great news for the Falcons as a whole, but mainly for Jacquizz Rodgers and Matt Ryan. It’s certainly a sign that the Falcons will be moving away from Michael Turner and moving towards a high-powered vertical offense featuring Julio Jones and Roddy White. (More here)
- Brandon Lloyd: It’s mandatory that we include our daily blurb about Lloyd, who has become this preseason’s hype machine. ESPN Boston’s Field Yates had this to say: “The veteran free-agent pick-up has been exactly as he was billed to be as a dynamic perimeter receiver. He’s caught almost everything thrown his way, and could be a massive part of the Patriots passing game in 2012.” I’m expecting big things from the Brady-Lloyd connection. (More here)
